THE CLOSET
I’m coming out of the closet,
I don’t care what they say.
I’m coming out of the closet,
At long last, today is the day.
I’ll be called names, I’ll be avoided,
But that’s a price I must pay.
I’ll be scoffed, and I’ll be mocked,
But don’t ask me to change--there’s no way!
I’m coming out of the closet,
A different life to begin.
I can’t choke now; I must tell the world:
I’M A CHRISTIAN; I’m giving up sin.
I’m going to clean out my closet;
Those skeletons cannot stay;
And if I go back in a closet,
It will only be to pray.
