NEW CREATURE FEATURES

NEW CREATURE FEATURES Out of the grave of baptism, Comes a great baptismal feature; A gift from God will await you, When you emerge a brand new creature. His gift is the Holy Spirit, Who is God in a another form. He will abide inside you, To help you know right from wrong. Christ paid the price, now you’re ransomed, From bondage to sin and its pain; Peace that passes understanding, Is another feature you gain. Since you were created anew, In heaven you have a new name. Your re-birth has brought you new life; Praise God, you are not the same. Your new heart will sing a new song; New thoughts will fill your mind. A new love for life, a new attitude, New hope in the Lord you will find. These gifts are available to everyone, Baptized to become a new creature, Whose life is truly transformed by God; Praise God for His new creature features. Becky Overturf Wall

THE COLOR OF LOVE

Image
THE COLOR OF LOVE That yellow-bellied snake in Eden, A green-eyed monster became. The blackness of sin came to the world, Through Satan, the serpent’s name. Sin-blackened hearts only make us blue, So hate sin with a purple passion. If you want your heart to be tickled pink, Remember, Christ offers full salvation. A colorful arch in the sky, Reminds us the whole earth won’t flood. Our sins are now drowned in a crimson sea; When they’re baptized into Christ’s blood. To make our hearts as white as snow, Christ came from heaven above, To bear our stripes and shed His blood; That’s why red is the color of love . Now we can enter those pearly gates, To a jeweled mansion, I’m told. And while angels strum upon their harps, We’ll walk on streets of gold. Becky Wall

HOW TO SOLVE ANY PROBLEM

Image
(Based on Isaiah 41 and 47) Problems come in all sizes; There are many different kinds. Some of them are obvious; Others are all in our minds. But when a problem does arise , Making your stomach churn, To whom do you turn for your answers? To which god will you turn? Will you rush to speak to a sorcerer, Or rely on a witch’s spell? Will you look to Satan’s black magic, To insure that all will end well? Y ou may prefer astrology , Or your psychic friend on the phone, But your ultimate fate can only be told, By Christ at H is judgment throne. You can turn to your earthly idols, To lessen the pain in your heart, But they may bring more problems, And split your family apart. To force a solution with terror, Is many a person’s quest. They look for an easy answer; They care not what is best. And it doesn’t help to worry , When looking for a solution. Use prayer, patience, and faith , For God is the resolution. Bec

SONRISE

Image
(Based on Matt. 27:45-28:6 & I Cor. 15:54) SONRISE Jesus had been crucified, Darkness filled the earth, Three days thence it trembled, The earth was giving birth. An angel rolled the stone away,    Sonlight filled the skies, Prophecies were now fulfilled, Finally came Sonrise. Death no longer masters us, The victory has been won. Mourning turned to morning, With the rising of the Son. Becky Overturf Wall

JESUS IS BETRAYED BY A FRIEND: KISS OF JUDAS, KISS OF DEATH

KISS OF JUDAS, KISS OF DEATH God had devised a Master plan, And the end was about to start. He sent  His Son to earth to die, And Judas would play a part. Treasurer to the twelve, Is the position he was given. When Christ gave Judas this task,  He knew b y money he was driven. His love for money filled his heart, And every time he stole, Satan would get a piece of him, ‘Til he finally had his soul. For Satan also had a plan, In which Jesus would have to die. To bring his plan to fruition, On Judas he would rely. Thirty pieces of silver were offered, To Judas, whose heart was cold. By this friend, His chosen disciple, The Son of God was sold. The twelve were having supper; With Jesus, it would be their last. Christ broke the bread and poured the wine, Then to each the communion was passed. “Someone here will betray me,” Said Jesus to them that day. “Is it I,” “Is it I,” the disciples asked. Judas then ran away.

THE GREATEST PAIN OF ALL

Image
(Based on Psalm 22:14-18) A pack of villains laid me on a cross, Though the beatings have taken their toll. They drive a nail through each hand and my feet, Lift the cross and drop it in a hole. My blood pours out like water, While people gloat and point. The weight of my body pulls me apart, ‘Til my bones are out of joint. My mouth is chapped and swollen, I have never felt such thirst. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth, While by other men’s tongues I am cursed. Wild, hungry dogs surround me, Drawn by my blood’s appeal. They wait for my body to drop, So they can have their next meal. I can count all of my bones, For they are on display. But no matter how much I suffer, This is the price I must pay. My clothes are divided among them; They try to humiliate me. They cast lots for my outer garment. I’m exposed for the world to see. My heart is weak and aching, Under the weight of man’s sin, But the greatest pain of all,

WHEN THE MOUNTAINS ENVIED A HILL

Image
WHEN THE  MOUNTAINS ENVIED A HILL The mountains envied Mt. Zion, Where Christ would fulfill God’s will. Tho’ the mountains thought themselves mighty, They fell short of that little hill. The mountains stood arrayed in beauty, That came from heaven above, By the man being handed a cross, And He formed them with great love. They watched as Jesus carried His cross, And their stones cried out in vain. They witnessed the crucifixion. And they heard Him cry out in pain. They wept when He breathed His last. Huge tears formed waterfalls and fountains. They thought their Creator was gone forever, When He died on the little mountain. They could see from where they towered, That Christ was placed in a tomb. They watched as His mother wailed, At the loss of the fruit of her womb. All at once they began to tremble, As the earth began to quake. The sun refused to shine, And the dead began to a

THE CLOSET

Image
THE CLOSET I’m coming out of the closet, I don’t care what they say. I’m coming out of the closet, At long last, today is the day. I’ll be called names, I’ll be avoided, But that’s a price I must pay. I’ll be scoffed, and I’ll be mocked, But don’t ask me to change--there’s no way! I’m coming out of the closet, A different life to begin. I can’t choke now; I must tell the world: I’M A CHRISTIAN; I’m giving up sin. I’m going to clean out my closet; Those skeletons cannot stay; And if I go back in a closet, It will only be to pray. Becky Overturf Wall
