LIVING WORDS TO HIDE IN YOUR HEART
God's Word is not a cafeteria-style book that collects dust. Even though it is a best seller, it is the least read and rarely read cover-to-cover. Hearing the Word is also important, though the churches are so divided that the audiences are left with confusion instead of having one mind. And there's also the problem of the Word being "watered down." Sin has become almost censored because the subject makes people feel bad and they want feel good sermons nowadays. I have compiled a long list of verses that stress the importance of God's Word and how we are to store those verses in our brains.
“Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people and said, ‘This is the blood of the covenant that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.’ Ex. 24:8” (The Old Testament has not been retired. “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them" Those are the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:17. The Old Testament teaches us what constitutes sin and how important it is to be obedient. The Old Testament is like a master or teacher and is much like how a father on earth teaches his son as his son grows up so that when the son reaches maturity, he can make good decisions on his own. Jesus’ blood sealed the New Testament/Covenant and we are to abide by that covenant out of love and out of our own free will, not because we feel forced.)
Because they have despised the Lord’s word and broken his commands, they must surely be cut off; their guilt remains on them.’” Num. 15:31
He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Deut. 8:3

“Go and inquire of the Lord for me and for the people and for all Judah about what is written in this book that has been found. Great is the Lord’s anger that burns against us because those who have gone before us have not obeyed the words of this book; they have not acted in accordance with all that is written there concerning us.” II Ki. 22:13
Then all the people went away to eat and drink, to send portions of food and to celebrate with great joy, because they now understood the words that had been made known to them. Neh. 8:12

I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. Ps. 130:5
My son, if you accept my words
and store up my commands within you,
2 turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding—
3 indeed, if you call out for insight
and cry aloud for understanding,
4 and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God.
6 For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7 He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
8 for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.
9 Then you will understand what is right and just
and fair—every good path.
10 For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
11 Discretion will protect you,
and understanding will guard you.
12 Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men,
from men whose words are perverse,
13 who have left the straight paths
to walk in dark ways,
14 who delight in doing wrong
and rejoice in the perverseness of evil,
15 whose paths are crooked
and who are devious in their ways.
16 Wisdom will save you also from the adulterous woman,
from the wayward woman with her seductive words,
17 who has left the partner of her youth
and ignored the covenant she made before God.[a]
18 Surely her house leads down to death
and her paths to the spirits of the dead.
19 None who go to her return
or attain the paths of life.
20 Thus you will walk in the ways of the good
and keep to the paths of the righteous.
21 For the upright will live in the land,
and the blameless will remain in it;
22 but the wicked will be cut off from the land,
and the unfaithful will be torn from it.
