A KING'S RANSOM

A KING’S RANSOM
I Timothy 2:5-6a

Heaven is a holy place;
So sinners cannot live there.
Only one could pay the price for our sins,
Though the price was very unfair.

Jesus Christ, both God and man,
Came to Earth to make a way.
He was scorned, abused and tempted,
But sinless He would stay.

Jesus knew what His future held,
Humiliation and great pain,
To die was His reason for coming to Earth;
Love from us was His only gain.

When that day had finally come,
And prophecies were fulfilled,
Jesus paid a King’s ransom,
When on the cross He was killed.

Heaven’s gates are now open,
To those who do God’s will,
Whose hearts are bonded to His,
And through trials love Him still.

I Timothy 2:5-6a For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people.

1 Peter 1:18-19 We “were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot."
