WOMAN: HELPMATE OR NAG

WOMAN: HELPMATE OR NAG? WHICH ARE YOU?

Helpmate/Helpmeet:
The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Genesis 2:18

Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.” Genesis 3:16

He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord. Proverbs 18:22

Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Ephesians 5:24

A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord. I Corinthians 7:39

A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. 1 Corinthians 11:7

Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Colossians 3:18

Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. Titus 2:4-5

Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives... 1 Peter 3:1

For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own husbands... I Peter 3:5

Houses and wealth are inherited from parents, but a prudent wife is from the Lord. Proverbs 19:14

Proverbs 31 - (exceptional woman)

10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Nag?:
(Story of Samson) With such nagging she prodded him day after day until he was sick to death of it. Judges 16:16

Better to live in a desert than with a quarrelsome and nagging wife. Proverbs 21:19

A foolish child is a father’s ruin, and a quarrelsome wife is like the constant dripping of a leaky roof. Proverbs 19:13

Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife. Proverbs 21:9

Proverbs 27:15
A quarrelsome wife is like the dripping of a leaky roof in a rainstorm;

As charcoal to embers and as wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome person for kindling strife. Proverbs 26:21
