SO YOU WANT TO BE A STAR

I Cor. 15:41 - The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor. (We're not all alike in splendor. Let your light shine as bright as you can; it will grow in splendor.)

Phil. 2:15 - ...so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe. (You will stand out, shining like a star, if you live a clean life.)

Matt. 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (Don't hide your light; let it shine. Let people see the goodness in you and the love you have for others and God.)

2 Peter 1:19 - We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. (If you have the respect of others, you will shine like a candle in a dark room. Jesus will be seen in you.)

Numbers 24:17 - I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel. He will crush the foreheads of Moab, the skulls of all the people of Sheth. (symbolic prophecy about Jesus)

Daniel 12:3 - Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. (Wise doesn't mean booksmart. True wisdom is that which the Bible teaches, making wise choices, leading a clean life.)

Revelation 22:16 - “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”

STARS YOU DON'T WANNA BE LIKE

Jude 4 & 13 - For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord. 13 They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shame; wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever. (And yes, they can be found in the church. They may even be among the leadership. Satan does his dirty work whenever and wherever he finds a weak spot in a person. His method of operation, a/k/a known as an m.o., is within the church because he doesn't have to worry about those outside of the church.)

Isaiah 14:12 - How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! (Speaking of Satan who was once a favorite archangel in heaven before he was cast out for wanting to take over God's creations.)

Revelation 8:10-11 The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water—the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter. (This is a literal star, though some think there is a spiritual meaning to it. It is ironic that Wormwood has a branch called Mugwort, which in the Ukranian language means Chernobyl. Google it.)

HOW TO WIN THE MORNING STAR

Revelation 2:26-29 - To the one who is victorious and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations— 27 that one ‘will rule them with an iron scepter and will dash them to pieces like pottery’—just as I have received authority from my Father. 28 I will also give that one the morning star. 29 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. (over my head, but I think the gist is that if we remain true to the Lord until the end, we will be greatly rewarded.)
