FROM THE MOUTHS OF BABES
(Based in part on Ps. 17:10, 73:7, 119:70; Mt. 18:3, I Pet. 2:2)
Great lectures I have listened to,
From orators very well known,
Who delivered sermons eloquently,
In a smooth and confident tone.
But the message that meant the most to me,
Was told with a voice that quivered,
By one who choked on his tears as he told,
How he from sin was delivered.
Those lives with new beginnings,
Who have been born again,
Speak as from the mouths of babes,
Simple truths that revive callous men.

All I know is once I was blind but now I see.
ReplyDeleteThough I grew up in the church, I think I can say the same. I wasn't wild or a rebel but I had no relationship with the Lord either and I was far from perfect (and still am). I love to hear the things new Christians have to say because they remind us of simple truths we've forgotten or you can tell the Spirit is teaching them.
